U16 Tackle (Formerly Bantam)

Bantam teams will be participating in either 9-A-Side or 12-A-Side tackle season, depending on the number of registered players. This level will continue focus on safe contact and starting more position specific skill development. All players will continue to learn football fundamentals, team work and sportsmanship while staying active and having fun as they develop into young athletes.

Eligibility: 13-15 years of age, not turning 16 or entering into Grade 10 in the calendar year. Open to all genders. (Birth years of 2009, 20010 & 2011)

Practices: Practices for the Fall season begin the first week of August and are held at W.P. Wagner School field, 6310 Wagner Road NW.

Games: One game per week, in the City of Edmonton and surrounding areas.

Season: Season game play begins in late August and continues to the end of October.

Equipment

Equipment provided as part of registration fees:

• Helmet
• Mouth Guard
• Shoulder Pads
• Game Pants & Knee Pads
• Practice & Game Jerseys
• Game Socks

Mandatory Equipment - NOT PROVIDED

• Football Cleats (or acceptable rubber cleat alternative) - No metal cleats
• Football/Sports Girdle (with Hip, Tail Bone and Thigh pads) - this can be purchased from the club for $50.00
